This modern eight-story hotel was named after Greensboro's Proximity Manufacturing Mill, established in the late 1800s. Proximity is intentionally designed to look like an old converted factory, yet built with modern materials. This unique hotel features classic, designer furnishings, high ceilings, exposed brick and stylish loft like suites. The Proximity Hotel has goals of becoming one of the most energy efficient "green" hotels and was built to U.S. Green Building Council guidlines. Sustainable practices and systems are utilized throughout this unconventional hotel, like the use of 100 solar panels covering the hotel rooftop.
