St. James Hotel This design-build project is a renovation and expansion of the historic St. James Hotel, originally constructed in 1865, a 2-story adobe structure. The 1,873 sf renovation includes the dining area, a bar, and restrooms. The 2,124 sf addition includes an expanded dining facility and a new kitchen. Between the existing hotel and guestroom annex building is a new outdoor courtyard including 8’-0” walls, three covered portals, and a rock water element. The design is in historic keeping with the existing hotel. The walls included the use of insulated-concrete form walls in new construction, combining modern construction methods with a historical aesthetic.
