Gilbert Street Center The Gilbert Street Center is an existing 14,611 s.f. brick masonry load-bearing building, constructed in the late 1910s as the Paragon Hosiery Mill. The two-story structure was converted to office space downstairs and art studios upstairs. The surrounding site was upgraded to ADA compliance and the building exterior was also renovated, including installation of new doors and windows to restore the historic fenestration. Wood panels removed during the demolition process were re-used in new construction. New mechanical ductwork is left exposed in an open ceiling throughout the building.
